Using Google Chrome Extensions
I have recently discovered Google Chrome Extensions, and wanted to share this as if you haven’t you may missing out on something that can save you a lot of time and energy.
I just get so excited about stuff like this!
“Productivity is key”
As a Virtual Assistant, productivity is key and and I just love finding new apps and tools to make life easier. I wrote in one of my early blogs about the smartphone apps that I love and this is just another fab tool that I can’t get enough of. Extensions basically link to the other Google Chrome products and shortcut a lot of the time spent opening new tabs and searching for stuff and you just download them straight from the store.
Some of the extensions I use
Hootsuite: I use Hootsuite to schedule my twitter posts. If I am browsing the web and see something I want to share on my social media, I can click on the Hootsuite image and up pops the Hootsuite Scheduler.
Join.Me: I have been trialling the use of Join.Me for webinars with clients, and for screen sharing. This links to my Google Calendar so if I schedule an appointment with a client, I can easily invite them to do it by webinar instead of by phone. I’m still trialling this one.
Evernote: Again, if I am browsing and spot something that may be useful but I don’t have time to read right there and then, I can save it to my Evernote account for later (I’ve created a notebook called ‘things to read when I have time’)
Water Glass: I am TERRIBLE and ensuring I drink enough water during the day, it’s so important to stay well and stay hydrated. Water Glass works by showing a cup of water each time you open a new tab on your browser, click the cup to register that you’ve had a drink and it will tot up how much you have had over the course of the day. Handy!
Do you use any extensions that I should be checking out? Do you have any other tips to share?
