Make your 2016 goals happen by creating a vision board
Creating a vision board is a really great way to visualise your goals and remind yourself why you set them in the first place. I recently wrote a post on easy goal setting and creating a vision board is a natural next step. The law of attraction is an idea that if you think positive thoughts and focus on what you want, you can make it happen. Whether you believe this or not, this is one great way to keep your mind on what you’ve set out to achieve.
“The law of attraction is the idea that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts a person brings positive or negative experiences into their life”.
Your vision board is just that – yours. Put anything you want on it, use pictures from magazines, photos that you have taken, include text that sums up what you want to achieve. Make it however you want, here’s three ideas:
- A collage of photos you have taken, made into a poster on Canva;
- Get back to basics with scissors, old magazines and glue (very therapeutic!);
- Create a Pinterest board.
Most importantly, when you have made your vision board, make sure it is is a place where you can see it – mine is on my wall above my desk where I can see it all say long. If you ever feel that you are going off on a tangent and weaving away from your goals, take a good look at your vision board and remind yourself where you are going and get back on track. Likewise, if you have a big decision to make, check your vision board to see if it contributes to your goals and that may help you to decide which way to go.
Do you have a vision board that you have created? Please feel free to share pictures of it, or let me know what yours symbolises.
Do you have any other ideas of how to keep your goals in the front of your mind?
